You are responsible for knowing park rules and regulations. Below is a list of useful information that you should know when driving, camping, or hiking in the Shenandoah National Park along the Skyline Drive.
SPEED LIMIT:The sppeed limit on the Skyline Drive Parkway is 35 mph. For your safety and others please obey the posted speed limit. Please also beware of hikers and cyclists along the parkway.
RESERVATIONS: Reservations may be made up to six months in advance of your arrival, but no later than two days prior to your arrival.
FOOD STORAGE: Black bears and other wildlife inhabit the area. Food and coolers must be stored inside your vehicle. Regulations applying to the storage of food and garbage are strictly enforced.
HOOK UPS: There are no RV hook-ups at any park campground. An RV dump station with potable water is available.
GENERATORS: Generator use (60 decibel limit) is restricted to 8AM to 10 AM and 4PM to 7 PM. Sites where generators are prohibited, regardless of time, include group sites B089, B090 and B091, and sites A023 through A060.
QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are in effect from 10 PM to 6 AM.
SITE LIMITS: A maximum of 2 tents and 6 persons are allowed per site.
ENTRANCE FEE: There is an entrance fee of $15 per vehicle (valid for 7 days) to enter Shenandoah National Park, in addition to camping fees.
CHECK IN: Check in at campground office or with the campground hosts prior to occupying your site. After hours, follow posted directions.
